ARC REaders
-
Yes! If you are selected, you will receive a free digital copy of the book.
-
I ask that all ARC readers leave an honest review on Amazon, Goodreads, StoryGraph, or another retailer/platform available in their country. Positive reviews are very appreciated, but honesty is the most important. As long as there’s kindness in the criticism, I’ll always be happy to receive it.
-
You can post your review on any of the following:
Amazon
Goodreads
StoryGraph
Your blog, BookTok, Bookstagram, or BookTube (if you have one)
I’ll send a reminder closer to pub day!
-
The ARC will be delivered as a digital EPUB or PDF file.
-
No, please do not forward, upload, copy, or share the ARC file. ARCs are provided for personal review purposes only.
-
Yes, if you:
enjoy YA fantasy romance
read regularly
are comfortable leaving reviews
are willing to keep big spoilers private until after release!
You definitely do not need a large social media following to apply.
-
After submitting the form:
Your application will be reviewed.
Selected readers will receive a confirmation email.
ARC files and instructions will be sent at a later date (most likely December).
Because ARC spots are limited, signing up does not guarantee selection.
-
You will receive an email by the end of November (specific date TBD) if you are selected for the ARC team. If you don’t hear from me by then, it simply means I wasn’t able to offer you a spot this time. However, this is a duology, so there’s always more to come!
-
That’s okay! If you’re unable to finish the book, I’d appreciate a quick email letting me know so I can update my ARC records :)
-
BODAD is a YA low Afro-fantasy romance featuring:
arranged marriage
frenemies-to-lovers energy
a love triangle involving cousins
royal court politics
mind-influencing powers
hidden divinities
slow-burn romance
ancient Africa-inspired worldbuilding influenced by regions near Egypt and Persia and heavily inspired by Igbo culture
If those tropes are your thing, you’re in the right place!

AKuko club
-
Akuko (meaning, story or tale in Igbo) is my little corner of the internet for readers that want to know a bit more than everyone else. Think of it as a behind-the-scenes pass into my writing world — full of romance, chaos, royal drama, and all the things that float around my head as I create my books.
-
Members of Akuko Club can expect:
First looks at cover reveals
Exclusive character art and mood boards
Maps and lots of lore
Deleted scenes and bonus chapters
Early information about upcoming books
Sneak peeks of chapters before anyone else
Behind-the-scenes updates from my drafting process
Voice notes or mini diaries about writing struggles and breakthroughs
Reading recommendations
Polls where you can help choose aesthetic details and more
Subscriber-only giveaways and launch surprises
-
I’m aiming for 1–2 emails per month. I will NEVER flood your inbox.
-
You may receive teasers and small snippets, but big spoilers will always be labelled so you can avoid them if you’d prefer to.
-
Yes! Akuko Club is completely free to join.
-
Of course! Newsletter subscribers will usually get:
title announcements
release dates
preorder links
cover reveals
ARC opportunities
special launch bonuses
before they’re posted on social media :)
-
Um, yes!! I’d love for Akuko Club to be a community, not a broadcast. Let me know:
which character is your favourite
what tropes you want more of
what kind of bonus content you’d love to see
your latest fantasy romance obsession
what you ate for lunch… why not?
-
When you sign up to be an ARC reader you can tick if you’d like to join Akuko Club. Otherwise sign up here!
Shipping and returns
-
I’ll ship physical books using InPost. Depending on the option you choose at checkout, your book will either be delivered directly to your home address or to your selected InPost Locker / Shop pickup point.
-
I will pack and dispatch orders before Pub Day (26/01/27). Once handed over to InPost, delivery typically takes 2–5 business days. You will receive an email with an InPost tracking link as soon as it is sent.
-
InPost usually holds packages at pickup points for 3 days. If you do not collect it, the book will be returned to me. Because this is a strict run of only 25 copies, please collect your book promptly. If it is returned to us, I will have to charge a re-shipping fee to send it out again.
-
E-books are digital and delivered instantly. As soon as your payment clears, you will receive an automatic email from Squarespace containing a secure download link.
-
Yes. Under UK consumer law, you have 14 days from the day you receive your book to notify me that you’d like to return it. Because this is a highly limited edition of 25 copies, the book must be returned completely unopened, unused, and in its original packaging. You will be responsible for the cost of return shipping.
-
Due to the instant nature of digital downloads, e-books are non-refundable. Under UK digital goods regulations, by clicking download, you agree to waive the standard 14-day cancellation period.
-
Unfortunately, exchanges are not possible. Because this print run is strictly capped at 25 total copies, I do not have a replacement inventory.
-
Damaged: If InPost mishandles your package and it arrives damaged, please email me within 48 hours at sochimadueme@outlook.com with a photo of the damage. We will arrange a return and issue a full refund.
Lost: If your tracking history shows the item is genuinely lost in transit by InPost, I will issue you a full refund.
